What you will need:
male-to-male 1/8-inch audio cable
Plug one end of the male-to-male 1/8-inch audio cable into your microphone jack (usually marked with a red/pink color), and the other end into the headphone jack (usually marked with a green color).
Now click the Sound Settings button located at the bottom of the Kiss Sounds program interface. This will open the Sound box. Click on the Recording Tab. Choose "Microphone" as your default recording device. Click OK.
Your PC will now record without background noise or distortion.
The Listening Room
When you first start Kiss Sounds, the program will open in the "Listening Room". The Listening Room is where you can listen and watch any song by any artist... and when we say any song by any artist, we mean it! Listen and watch full-length songs on demand... anytime, anywhere, any song, any artist.
Just type in the name of the song you are looking for and before you can say "Kiss" ... all video's that match your search query will appear on the right side of the screen. You can also search by artist, simply type the artists' name in the search box and all of their music will be displayed. When searching for video's, be sure and use the "Next" button to scroll through the videos; when you see the video you are searching for, click it. It will now begin playing on the large preview monitor. You can watch videos inside the program or switch to full screen mode.
The Recording Studio
Kiss Sounds is first and foremost a digital audio recorder that allows you to record music and audio by working directly with your computer's sound card. When you record with Kiss Sounds you will get exactly what you hear, without any audio quality loss. Kiss Sounds allows you to quickly and easily record streaming audio from the Internet, record streaming music from online radio stations, record any sound played by your computer, record music played by other media players, record audio through your microphone, record music playing through your CD/DVD drive or record music from external media devices such as MP3 players.
You can access the Recording Studio by clicking on the button at the top of the program next to the Kiss Sounds logo... the button is appropriately called "Recording Studio". Once clicked, the Recording Studio opens and you can now browse to a specific website (I.E. Google.com™, MTV.com™, YouTube™, Metacafe™, MySpace™, NBC™, Lala™, Yahoo!™ Music, LiveStream™, Hulu™, Fancast™, XM™ Radio, Sirius™ Radio, Grooveshark™, AOL™ Music, AOL™ Video, Pandora™, Blip.tv,) and record streaming audio. You can also insert a CD, or plug in your microphone, or attach another external device and begin recording.
When you are ready to record, simply press the Record button (it's the round button on top, dude it's the 1st button on the left, yeap that's it!). When you are finished recording, click it again to stop recording. To play back your recording, press the Play button. If you are satisfied with your recording, press Save. If you are not satisfied with the recording, press Clear and try again.
The Media Player
In addition to the "Listening Room" and the "Recording Studio"... Kiss Sounds also features a simple-to-use but yet-very-powerful Media Player. Once again, you can access the media player through the Listening Room by clicking on the button (you're catching on) "Media Player". The Kiss Media Player will play audio files as well as movies. When playing an audio file (or a movie, for that matter) you can also record what you are hearing by pressing the Record button located at the top of the Media Player.In addition to the "Listening Room" and the "Recording Studio"... Kiss Sounds also features a simple-to-use but yet-very-powerful Media Player. Once again, you can access the media player through the Listening Room by clicking on the button (you're catching on) "Media Player". The Kiss Media Player will play audio files as well as movies. When playing an audio file (or a movie, for that matter) you can also record what you are hearing by pressing the Record button located at the top of the Media Player.
How do I search for artists and songs in Kiss Sounds?
Kiss Sounds uses a universal search box, meaning that the same search box is used to search for artists as well as song titles. To perform a search, enter your search terms in the search field in the listen/view area of Kiss Sounds and press the Search button. The Search button will return results for all content available that matches your search terms.
What are the system requirements for Kiss Sounds to function?
Kiss Sounds is fully compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit editions), Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions) and Mac OS X with Boot Camp running Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
Kiss Sounds requires an active Internet connection, Internet Explorer, Adobe Flash Player, Windows Media Player and a (16-bit minimum) sound card.
A screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater is recommended but not required.
Is Kiss Sounds compatible with Windows 7 32/64-bit?
Yes. Kiss Sounds is fully compatible with Windows 7 as well as Windows Vista and Windows XP.

How long does it take to get a registration key?
Typically you will receive your key within 24 hours. Your registration key and unlock code is emailed to the email address provided by you during the purchase process.
What is the difference between the FREE version and the Registered version of Kiss Sounds?
The free version of Kiss Sounds allows 60 seconds of audio recording whereas the registered version of Kiss Sounds features UNLIMITED recording. The free version also has brief interruptions when listening to or watching music videos whereas the registered version allows you to listen and watch as many music videos as you'd like without any interruptions. The registered version can convert saved recordings to MP3 whereas the free version cannot. Please see this article for more information on MP3 conversion.
How do I use the recording features?
The recording features of Kiss Sounds will record any sound played by your computer... streaming audio, Internet broadcasts or local audio files played or reproduced by other programs, such as RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, iTunes, Zune, Musicmatch Jukebox, WinAmp, and most other media players.
Kiss Sounds allows you to record any sound passed through any line of your sound card. For example, in addition to recording streaming audio; you can also record sound being played back by an external program, sound from your microphone, CD/DVD player, external MP3 player, etc.
To record, simply press the Record button (round button with circle at the top of program). When the recording button is pressed the program will switch to docking mode. You can then open your recording source and press the record button. When you are finished recording, press Save to save your recording to your computer. It's that easy!

Recording Music with Kiss Sounds through your sound card.
To record audio through your sound card, please follow the below instructions to acheive the best possible recordings.
VISTA USERS:
- Step 1: Click on the Sound Settings button located at the bottom of the Kiss Sounds program interface. This will open the Sound box.
- Step 2: Click on the Recording Tab.
- Step 3: Right click in the window and Show Disabled Devices.
- Step 4: Right click in the window again and show Disconnected Devices. All recording devices are now shown.
- Step 5: The Stereo Mix device should be set as your default recording device.
- Step 6: Click OK.
XP USERS:
- Step 1: Click on the Sound Settings button located at the bottom of the Kiss Sounds program interface. This will open the Sound box.
- Step 2: Click on the Audio Tab.
- Step 3: Make sure your sound card is selected as Default Device in the Sound Playback drop-down window.
- Step 4: Make sure your sound card is selected as Default Device in the Sound Recording drop-down window.
- Step 5: Click OK.
During playback I can't hear my recording.
If you recorded audio and now cannot hear it during playback; your sound settings may not be configured properly. View the Sound Setting Help Video by clicking here or follow the instructions below.
VISTA USERS:

The audio I just recorded is too low.
For best results have your sound level as loud as possible when recording. For example: If you are recording sound being played through your computer's speakers be sure your sound level is at 50 or higher.
My recording is picking up background noise from the room.
You are recording through your microphone instead of your sound card. Follow the below instructions to modify your record settings.
VISTA USERS:
- Step 1: Click on the Sound Settings button located at the bottom of the Kiss Sounds program interface. This will open the Sound box.
- Step 2: Click on the Recording Tab.
- Step 3: Right click in the window and Show Disabled Devices.
- Step 4: Right click in the window again and show Disconnected Devices. All recording devices are now shown.

My recordings are combined as one recording.
After each recording be sure and click the Save or Clear button to prevent your recordings from appending together.
Saving in MP3 format.
Kiss Sounds requires an external program to work with MP3s. Please see this article for information on saving recorded audio in MP3 format.
Kiss Sounds can automatically send your saved audio recordings to iTunes.
To send your saved recording to iTunes, press the ITUNES button which is located under the "Save & Clear" buttons. Your saved recordings are located in your default Music folder, in a sub folder called Kiss. Once you press the ITUNES button all saved music files are added to your iTunes library. You can now open iTunes and sync your recordings to your iPod.
You will notice the saved recordings which were in the Kiss folder are now located in a sub-folder called, "Sent to iTunes". Any new recordings will be saved in the Kiss folder until you send them to iTunes.
Also, please note that files sent to iTunes are now located in the sub folder "Sent to iTunes" can be played with Kiss media player.

At the Kiss Sounds Media Player you can play your saved MP3's or Wav's as a playlist.
You can listen to all of your saved recordings as a playlist using the Kiss Media Player. Simply click "Play My Wav's" or "Play My MP3's" to listen to all your audio files.
